Important notice regarding the new procedure for exercising the right to free island transport

Starting Wednesday, January 22, 2025, free transportation on all Arriva routes operating in the areas of Lošinj, Cres, Krk, Rab, Pag, Brač, Korčula, Lastovo, Mljet, and the Pelješac peninsula will only be available with a valid PASS (CHIP card – orange in color).

Exceptions to this rule are:

  • Passengers applying for the pass for the first time, who will receive a temporary confirmation from Arriva until their new pass is issued.
  • Primary school students commuting according to school-provided lists for educational purposes.
  • Workers who are not eligible for free transportation.

Passengers who do not possess a valid PASS but are entitled to free public line transportation will be charged a ticket fee starting January 22, 2025.

We remind you that the new Regulation on Free Public Island Road Transportation (Official Gazette 68/2024) has been in effect since June 14, 2024.

According to the new regulation, coastal-island counties determine eligibility for free transportation and issue a Certificate of Entitlement for Free Public Island Road Transportation. Based on the provided certificate and a 3.5 x 3 cm photograph (not older than one year), Arriva will issue a NEW PASS at its sales points.
